TLS Plugin for OIE now available

Paul Richardson
Paul Richardson·January 9, 2026

As a mark of our trust in OIE's future and our commitment to accelerating its success, we have developed a full TLS plugin for OIE and contributed it as open source to the community. This project was co-sponsored with our friends at Diridium Technologies, Inc.

The TLS plugin can be downloaded from the GitHub repository, and the user guide is available here.

This new TLS plugin brings robust, secure, and highly configurable encrypted communications across key connection types:

  • Web Service Senders and Listeners
  • HTTP Senders and Listeners
  • TCP Senders and Listeners

Key features include: built-in support for mTLS, web-based certificate management, precise control over permissible ciphers and TLS versions, and advanced TLS-level debugging and diagnostics. This ensures that security, visibility, and operational control are available right out of the box. In addition, API calls have been added for certificate management.
